Pediatric Speech & Language Therapy

Every child deserves the opportunity to communicate with confidence. At Appel Speech Therapy Solutions, we provide personalized, evidence-based speech and language therapy tailored to your child's unique strengths and needs.

What You May Notice

Your child may benefit from a speech and language evaluation if you notice:

  • Difficulty being understood by family members, teachers, or peers

  • Frequently leaving out, replacing, or distorting speech sounds

  • Frustration when trying to communicate

  • Difficulty following directions or answering questions

  • Limited vocabulary or difficulty putting sentences together

  • Trouble explaining ideas, retelling stories, or participating in conversations

  • Repeating sounds, words, or phrases when speaking

  • Avoiding certain words or speaking situations

  • Speech that sounds less developed than children of the same age

  • Difficulty interacting or communicating appropriately with peers

What We Treat

Articulation & Speech Sound Disorders

Articulation disorders occur when a child has difficulty producing specific speech sounds correctly. Therapy focuses on teaching proper sound production and helping children use those sounds consistently in everyday communication.

Childhood Apraxia of Speech

Childhood Apraxia of Speech is a motor speech disorder that affects a child's ability to plan and coordinate the movements needed for speech. Treatment includes individualized, structured practice using visual, verbal, and tactile cues.

Phonological Disorders

Phonological disorders occur when a child uses incorrect speech patterns rather than having difficulty producing individual sounds. Therapy helps children recognize speech sound differences and replace incorrect patterns with accurate ones.

Fluency & Stuttering

Fluency therapy helps children who experience stuttering or disruptions in the natural flow of speech. Therapy focuses on building confidence, reducing communication anxiety, and developing strategies for smoother speech.

Receptive & Expressive Language Delays

Language therapy helps children improve their ability to understand spoken language and express their own thoughts, ideas, and feelings. Therapy may focus on:

  • Building vocabulary

  • Increasing sentence length

  • Following directions

  • Answering questions

  • Understanding concepts

  • Retelling stories

  • Organizing and expressing ideas

  • Improving grammar

What to Expect

Every child begins with a comprehensive consultation and evaluation to identify their communication strengths and areas of need. Based on the evaluation, we create an individualized treatment plan tailored to your child's goals. Parents and caregivers receive guidance and practical strategies to help reinforce progress outside of therapy sessions.

Helping Your Child Communicate with Confidence

Early support can make communication easier and reduce frustration for both children and families. Our goal is to help every child develop the skills and confidence needed to communicate successfully at home, at school, and in everyday life.
