Yehuda Appel, M.S., CCC-SLP

Owner, Licensed Speech-Language Pathologist

Yehuda Appel, M.S. CCC-SLP is a speech-language pathologist who works with children, teens, and adults to improve speech and voice, among other communication skills. He is passionate about providing therapy that empowers clients to communicate with greater confidence.

Yehuda's journey into speech-language pathology began through his studies in singing and voice science. Working with renowned voice teachers and attending voice symposia gave him a deep understanding of vocal anatomy, healthy voice production, and the remarkable ways the voice can be strengthened and restored. Today, he combines that knowledge with evidence-based therapy to help both children and adults communicate more effectively and confidently.

One of the principles that guides Yehuda's approach to therapy is a genuine belief in the potential of every client he works with. Throughout his career, he has learned that people are often capable of much more than they believe - especially with someone who believes in them.

For many people, communication challenges can affect far more than speech alone. They may become hesitant to participate in class, avoid speaking with peers, or begin to doubt their own abilities. Yehuda believes that progress begins with believing in the person, not just treating the disorder. He strives to create a supportive environment where clients feel encouraged, challenged, and confident in their ability to succeed. By building trust, celebrating progress, and focusing on each client's unique strengths, he helps them discover that they are capable of achieving more than they ever imagined.

Whether helping a child master difficult speech sounds, supporting an adult through a voice disorder, or guiding someone toward more effective communication, Yehuda's goal is not only to improve communication skills but also to help each client leave therapy with greater confidence in themselves. He believes that some of the most meaningful moments in therapy occur when a client realizes, "I can do this." Helping people reach those moments is what makes his work so rewarding.

Yehuda earned his Master of Science in Speech, Language, and Learning from Northwestern University and is certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). He has experience working in both private practice and school settings, providing evaluation and treatment for a wide range of speech, language, and voice disorders.

During graduate school, Yehuda was recognized as an outstanding student and clinician. He received the prestigious Kenneth R. and Grace S. Rearwin Academic Scholarship and was selected to deliver the valedictorian address. Additionally, Yehuda received Rabbinic Ordination in 2013.
